Eden Park College
Created in 2011 under the impetus of its Founder Franck Mesnel, Les Papillons du Ciel has been an association under the 1901 law since 2015.
Built in 2014 thanks to the association's volunteers, the Collège du Rocher, located on Ile aux Nattes in Madagascar (a small island south of the island of Sainte-Marie), is the only college on the island and allows allowing children to continue their education. With its 5 buildings, its library, its refectory and its 8 teachers, it annually welcomes 97 students from 9 to 17 years old.
Our sustainable commitments
For the sake of sustainability, Franck Mesnel has decided to recycle samples and scraps of Eden Park shirts to have them transformed by mothers of college students who are also seamstresses:
- Scrunchie - Glasses case - Brooch in the shape of a bow tie
A brooch is sold for $3 in an Eden Park store or on our e-shop and helps finance meals for a child ($1 for lunches, $1 for seamstresses, $1 for logistics and equipment)
Between classes, rugby and educational/extracurricular activities, the association motivates middle school students to learn in good conditions: -A vegetable garden created and maintained by the children. -A canteen where 3 meals are offered per week. - Cétamada: discovery and prospecting of humpback whales
"Having been lucky enough to have an educated family, to have had higher education and to have been able to practice Rugby at a very high level, I am convinced that instruction and education are the determining parameters of the successful integration and possible harmony in any society. It is to develop these values: rigor, individual courage, team spirit and mutual respect that "Les Papillons du Ciel" was created and that we will be offering more and more projects around training.
