Friendship, audacity, loyalty, impertinence, hard work, a touch of madness, carefree spirit, rugby. Each of them retains the spirit of showbizz: to be where you least expect them.

At the turn of the 80s, rugby's center of gravity was not in Paris, but in the South-West. Yet a generation of talented young players was beginning to emerge at Racing Club de France. The team was languishing in Group B, and the new generation was advocating a bolder, more modern, more enterprising brand of rugby. The young players are developing a much more relaxed, even impertinent attitude. They gave this new, offbeat approach to rugby the name Showbizz. Franck Mesnel, who finished his architecture studies and joined the Paris club that had been his dream since childhood, was soon noticed for his physical qualities. He enthusiastically embraced the Showbizz he admired, which was soon to become a media phenomenon.
